Hello World Wide Readers,
I figured I would put in this weeks journal early because starting this past Wednesday I have one more week off. Ben had a good week, he was made temporary work leader of his shop. His boss thinks he is doing a great job. It’s been a great experience for him. We had a good time celebrating Christmas with my parents. We had turkey and ham, plus all the sides. Mom and I made some Chex mix with chocolate and powdered sugar. I call it snowman poo. LOL. I was able to finish Dad’s and Ben’s gift. I made them both hats.
Mom and I are going to go shopping for her gift on her next day off from work at the gym. She did open gifts from my aunt. She sent her some Fiesta dishes she wanted. Ben got a gift card to a store he wanted to buy some parts from and I got my new Nintendo Switch. It’s the second version of it so it’s got a bigger screen. I am looking forward to setting it up and transferring all my games over to it. Ben was able to get me everything I wanted and then some this Christmas. It really was an amazing time we both had at my parents. We talked about Christmas pasts and what our Christmas’s will look like in the future. We all had a good laugh and fun around the dinner table.
With New Year’s around the corner, Ben is looking at using some of benefits to go back to school. He is not sure what he wants to do yet, but there are a couple of programs at my school he may decide to do. We even are starting a bachelors degree program, but he knows he does not want to do that. He won’t start anything probably till next fall but I am glad he is deciding to go.
Ben has been busy in his workshop working on some projects for the house. He is really excited to be a home owner. We are going to start prepping our garden for the spring. We have to get the above ground containers done and prepped with the composted dirt we have made from the leaves that have fallen. We also are going to have to do another collection of leaves to replenish the compost pile. So as the year ends, we have a lot to get started for next year.
