This is what happens when we take Fathers away from our children. Women invade our churches and force feminization of everything we know to be true out God, the Father the Almighty. Essentially when we look at this it is the church modifying the word of God. God made Adam in his image and Eve was taken from the rib of Adam. Therefore, God is masculine. This does not mean he does not have feminism characteristics like compassion or empathy. But all men have the attributes and they are not exclusive to the female gender.
Anyway, let’s take a look at the 1928 BCP Nicene Creed would look like if we removed the masculine pronouns for God. First we have to assume that when they are speaking about God we are speaking about all three parts of the Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Hodges discuses that at the convention that God has continued to change and adapt. I am going to have to disagree on that point. If God is having to change and adapt, he is not God. God knows the past, present and future. Therefore there is no need to adapt or change he is constant.
Back to the 1928 Nicene Creed:
I BELIEVE in one God the Creator, Maker of heaven and earth,
And of all things visible and invisible:
And in one royal Jesus Christ, the only-begotten child of God;
Begotten of his Creator before all worlds,
God of God, Light of Light, Very God of very God; Begotten, not made;
Being of one substance with the Creator;
By whom all things were made:
Who for us individuals and for our salvation came down from heaven,
And was incarnate by the Holy Ghost of the pure host, And was made human:
And was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate;
suffered and was buried: And the third day rose again according to the Scriptures:
And ascended into heaven, And sitteth on the right hand of the Creator:
And the child shall come again, with glory, to judge both the quick and the dead;
Whose kingdom shall have no end.
And I believe in the Holy Ghost, The Royal, and Giver of Life,
Who proceedeth from the Creator and the Child;
Who with the Creator and the Child together is worshipped and glorified;
Who spake by the Prophets: And I believe one Catholic and Apostolic Church:
I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins:
And I look for the Resurrection of the dead:
And the Life of the world to come. Amen.
There is a part of me deeply troubled to the way this sounds like almost a promotion for pedophilia in the Nicene creed. Lets continue on to look at the Lords Prayer.
Our Almighty Creator, which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth,
As it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive them that trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
The power, and the glory,
For ever and ever. Amen.
Admittedly the Lord’s prayer is not as bad. Yet something inside my gut just is enraged by even the idea that we would modify prayers that are given to us in the word of God. Last I checked the word of God was not a suggestion to pick and choose from and to wrap ourselves up with like a warm blanket but it was instead God’s expectations of us and how we are supposed to live our lives to be accepted and chosen into heaven. The Lord’s Prayer can be found in Matthew 6:9-13. If we modify the BCP to be gender neutral that means changing the Psalms, the readings, the prayers, and even the creeds. The BCP will no longer be a supplement to the Bible but will be a heretical book that becomes similar to what most Christians would find the book of Joseph Smith to be without the gold plates. I guess my question is this. If you look at the picture most of the individuals shown are women. Last I checked women are to be silent in churches and not permitted to speak according to 1 Corinthians 14: 34. No constitutional amendment or equality vote trumps the word of God.
The church is not to reflect society but instead is supposed to lead by example for families and society. However, with men failing to attend churches and being removed out of their families, we should expect nothing less when women are left to their own devices and forced to make theological decisions for the Christian Church. Women’s frame of reference comes feelings while logic clearly states that the word of God is finite and permanent. Men will and have fought to the death for the word of God. Yet today women want to make it more inclusive to avoid conflict. Women need to understand their social obligation and place not only in the family but in the church. Yet until men come back and step up chaos like this will be allowed to dominate our sacred fellowship halls and another set of children will fall further and further from knowing the powerful and ALMIGHTY FATHER in HEAVEN.
My God have mercy on our souls.
